SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The Bowling Green State University hockey team exploded for three third-period goals to come away with a 4-1 road victory over Lake Superior State on Friday.
BGSU improved to 2-2 on the season with the win.
The Falcons scored two of their third-period goals in less than three minutes, both coming from Jaden Grant, to pull away. Grant’s even-strength goal 52 seconds into the frame broke a 1-1 tie.
Then at 2:24 in, he converted a power-play goal, assisted by Quinn Emerson and Ben Doran, to make it 3-1. BGSU added a goal with 53 seconds remaining from Connor Levis to close out the scoring.
