Three-star wide receiver Shawn Thigpen of Springfield, Ohio, has committed to Bowling Green, he announced Monday afternoon on his Twitter account.
Thigpen is ranked as the No. 24 player in Ohio by 247Sports. The receiver chose the Falcons over offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Purdue, Syracuse, and six other MAC schools, including Toledo.
Last year, Thigpen reeled in 54 catches for 780 yards and five touchdowns.
In Springfield’s 23-13 loss to nationally ranked Lakewood St. Edward in Ohio’s Division I state championship game last year, Thigpen caught 10 passes for 105 yards, both career highs.
