BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University announced its second addition to the 2023-24 men’s basketball team Wednesday as former Southern Utah center Jason Spurgin has joined the Falcons.
Spurgin, a 6-foot-11 center and native of Australia, followed coach Todd Simon to northwest Ohio. Simon guided Southern Utah for the past seven seasons before taking over as the Falcons’ mentor March 15.
Spurgin started all 72 games for the Thunderbirds the last two seasons after appearing in 14 games as a freshman. He averaged 7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest at Southern Utah.
