A valiant effort does not go unnoticed, but the elephant in the room of six players and two starters being left out of Saturday’s game against Toledo ultimately led to the demise of the Falcons in a 91-78 defeat to the Rockets in the first edition of the 2021-’22 Battle of I-75 at the Stroh Center.
The Rockets have had the Falcons’ number in the last two appearances in Wood County, winning last season’s game by a record margin and nearly topping it on Saturday.
