This week's winner is hockey player Ryan Bednard. With no women's teams in action, there is no Female Athlete of the Week.
Male Athlete of the Week
Ryan Bednard, a junior from Macomb, Mich., spearheaded a strong defensive effort as BGSU Hockey swept No. 3 Minnesota State by identical 4-1 scores over the weekend. Bednard made 26 saves Friday night and kept the Mavericks off the scoreboard on seven power play attempts.
