EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons finished their first competition of the fall, participating in the third day of the Spartan Invite on Sunday, Oct. 2. Maru Poppe and Youngstown State's Jessica Stanmore each won their singles match, securing the title in the 'D' flight. Over the weekend, the duo went 2-1 in doubles play, with Poppe winning all three of her singles matches. Poppe paired with Hannah Neuman in the 'B' flight doubles, falling in a closely contested match to NIU, 7-6 (8).
Also playing in the 'D' flight were Falcon transfers Eloise Saraty and Lucy Furness.
