Most of roster retained, Falcons get to work under Loeffler

BOWLING GREEN — During an offseason of newness, Jarret Doege did his homework.

The Bowling Green starting quarterback arrived in northwestern Ohio mostly because of former Falcons coach Mike Jinks, a fellow Texan who gave Doege his only NCAA Bowl Subdivision scholarship offer. Further, Doege’s older brother, Seth, was one of Jinks’ assistant coaches.

When the program dismissed Jinks and Seth Doege was not retained by the new coaching staff, many naturally wondered what would happen with Jarret Doege, who threw a Mid-American Conference-best 27 touchdown passes during the regular season.

With the aid of a serendipitous connection, it turned out the answer was nothing — Jarret Doege is still under center for the Falcons during spring practice.
