Freshman Michael Montemurri scored late in the second half, lifting the Bowling Green State University men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over the University of Wisconsin Friday evening (Sept. 6). The non-conference neutral-site match was held at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium in Evanston, Ill.
Montemurri, making his collegiate debut, netted the lone goal of the match in the 81st minute. Senior Chris Brennan and junior Chris Sullivan had assists on the play.
Senior goalkeeper Anthony Mwembia recorded his 21st clean sheet of his career and second in as many matches, making two saves against the Badgers.
