OXFORD, Ohio — Terion Stewart’s 62-yard touchdown run gave Bowling Green State University a 7-0 lead over host Miami with 8:42 left in the first quarter.
Stewart entered Tuesday’s game with a hot hand. In his previous three games, he had tallied 269 yards and 8.4 yards per carry. His TD run to open the scoring against the RedHawks gave him four straight games with a rushing TD, and he has scored five rushing TDs in that span.
Bowling Green and Miami began the game under foggy conditions not caused by Mother Nature. The smoke effect from Miami’s team entrance left a lingering fog over the majority of the field, and the game’s coin toss was done under the fog and was only visible from cameras showing the action on the stadium’s jumbotron.
