Late run not enough for BGSU women in loss to Buffalo

BOWLING GREEN — A fourth-quarter rally helped the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team go to overtime against Buffalo on Saturday at the Stroh Center, but the visiting Bulls used a steal and a layup in the final 30 seconds of OT to secure a 69-68 victory in the Falcons’ regular-season finale.

Bowling Green, which entered the game having the top seed in upcoming Mid-American Conference tournament sewn up, outscored Buffalo 25-11 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. After trailing the Bulls by as many as 20 points earlier in the game, the Falcons (18-5, 14-4 MAC) outscored the Bulls 20-5 in the first six minutes of the fourth to claim a brief lead before the teams tied things up down the stretch.
