In year No. 2 of renovation, Bowling Green takes nothing for granted

BOWLING GREEN — A week before its first game, Bowling Green stands as one of the bigger mysteries in college football.

The Falcons' 2020 season eventually will be defined by the things that are unknowable now, and there are many of them.

They have a first-time head coach in the second season of a massive undertaking, rebuilding the lagging Mid-American Conference program in a down-to-the-studs renovation after just 12 wins in the past four years.

They have a starting quarterback who, at age 22, is simultaneously one of the team's most veteran players and one of its least experienced, having played a full year of football just once in the past seven years.
