Game day updates: Bowling Green 10, UCLA 7 – 2nd quarter

FIRST QUARTER

Bowling Green won the toss and deferred its choice to the second half. The Falcons’ defense immediately swarmed UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, forcing a punt; redshirt freshman outside linebacker Cashius Howell blocked that punt and sophomore outside linebacker Charles Rosser turned it into a touchdown. An extra point gave Bowling Green a surprising 7-0 lead.

The Bruins wasted little time responding, as Thompson-Robinson recovered from early duress to break off a 68-yard touchdown run. The Falcons went three-and-out on their opening offensive possession, and then committed kick-catch interference on the first punt of freshman Sami Sir’s career.
