BOWLING GREEN — Monday’s game against the Bowling Green women’s basketball team was a homecoming for Detroit Mercy coach Kate Achter.
Achter, a Clay High School alumna and former Falcons women’s basketball player, returned to the campus that started her college basketball career. She played a pivotal role as a four-year starter for the Falcons and eventually became a graduate assistant on Bowling Green’s strength and conditioning staff.
Since her time as a Falcon, Achter has made stops at St. Bonaventure, Xavier, and as head coach of Loyola University Chicago for six seasons. She was hired as the Detroit Mercy coach in April 2022.
