LAHAINA, MAUI, HI – BGSU Men's Golf concluded its 2017 fall season with the completion of the third and final round of the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic today in Maui, Hawaii. The tournament was held at the Ka'anapali Golf Club hosted by Hawaii University. The Falcons carded a total of 873, +21 (282, 301, 290). BG finished tied for 12th overall along with Wyoming University. 20 other teams competed in the Ka'anapali classic with a total of 115 athletes.
TEAM BREAKDOWN
- LSU takes the victory for the weekend with a total card of 821, -31 (268, 275, 278)
- BG gained three spots in the ranks since the end of round two in 15th
- Competitors from the Mid American Conference were Kent State and Ball State
- Kent State finished in ninth overall with a score of 859, +7 (272, 297, 290)
- Ball State trailed the Falcons by 21 strokes and finished in 19th overall with a final score of 894, +42 (287, 306, 301)
BY THE NUMBERS INDIVIDUAL BREAKDOWN
- Pablo Heredia Iglesias lead the Falcons through all three rounds and finished tied in 36th overall
- Iglesias had seven birdies overall as well has the only eagle shot for the Falcons on the weekend
- Rodrigue Vie gained 25 places since the second round and finished tied in 49th overall along with teammate Trey Walker
- Walker gained 12 places in the third round and has nine birdies on the weekend
- Mitchell Kontak leads the Falcons in birdies for the weekend with a total of 12 over three rounds
- Kontak is also the only Falcon to have shot even in two rounds of play for the weekend
- Rispler played his strongest 18 holes in the last round of the tournament
As the last strokes were taken today in Hawaii, BG concluded its 2017 fall season.
