Huntington, W.Va. – The Bowling Green State University track and field team competed in just three events on the first day of Marshall's Thundering Herd Invitational, but the Falcons won one event and had two student-athletes etch their names in the BGSU record books.
Redshirt sophomore Rachel Walny won the 5000 with the second-fastest time in BGSU history, while freshman Chasatea Brown scored 3,285 points in the pentathlon to rank fourth all-time in school history.
Walny was part of a dominant performance for the Falcons as BGSU took the top two spots among 43 competitors in the 5000.
