Falcons are run over by Golden Flashes

KENT, Ohio —Repeatedly having to tackle Kent State’s variety of backs led to a worn-out defense.

The Golden Flashes had 56 carries, while Bowling Green State University was unable to get its running game going throughout the day as the Falcons lost 27-20 to Kent State in a Mid-American Conference game at Dix Stadium on Saturday.

Kent State rushed for 262 yards, while BGSU only mustered 55 yards on 26 carries.

“It is 56 carries when we can’t run it,” BGSU coach Scot Loeffler said. “Football hasn’t changed since the beginning of time. If you lose the rushing battle, you are not going to win.
