AKRON, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team concluded the first day of the Zippy Invitational in third place with 381 points. Hosts Akron finished first with 734.5 points, and Buffalo finished second ahead of the Falcons with 482.5 points.
In relays, two teams of Falcon swimmers finished among the top five, while one Falcon team finished in the top 10. Overall, Falcon athletes were the best five in four events throughout the first day of the Zippy Invitational, and within the top 10 in seven events.

• In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Franziska Wohlert, Noelle Lavigne, Anna Eriksson, and Ashleigh Franks finished in fifth with a time of 1:34.
