Detroit guard signs to play at BG

BOWLING GREEN — Justin Turner has signed a national letter of intent to join the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball program.

Turner, a 6-4 guard from Renaissance High School in Detroit, averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in leading the Phoenix (17-5) to the Detroit Public School League title game for the second straight season and to a Division 1 district final.

“Justin Turner is a jack-of-all-trades,” BG coach Michael Huger said. “He can dribble, he can shoot, and he can pass. And he’s got long arms, and that helps him be a good defender.
