Bowling Green women's basketball team loses close game at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team gave Big Ten member Purdue a challenge on the road Sunday, with the Falcons cutting the Boilermakers’ lead to single digits in the fourth quarter before Purdue snagged a 79-73 victory at Mackey Arena.

Purdue led by 12 in the first half and by 15 in the third quarter, but Bowling Green, which trailed 62-51 after three quarters, claimed a 22-17 edge in the fourth quarter.

Bowling Green (4-1) had four players in double figures, paced by 15 points each from Elissa Brett and Lexi Fleming.
