Bowling Green women's basketball falls at Buffalo

BUFFALO — The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team rallied for a fourth-quarter lead, but ultimately lost 82-72 at Buffalo in a Wednesday morning game at Alumni Arena.

The Falcons (10-7, 4-3 MAC) had four players score in double figures, led by Amy Velasco and Paige Kohler with 16 points each. Erika Porter had 14 points, and Morgan Sharps scored 10.

Velasco also had 11 assists, while Porter grabbed 13 rebounds.

It was the second loss in a row in Mid-American Conference play for the Falcons after a 56-47 setback at Miami on Saturday.

The Bulls (10-7, 4-3 MAC) got a huge scoring effort from the MAC's leading scorer Chellia Watson, who had 36 points on 15 of 32 shooting from the field.
