BOONE, N.C. — Caleb Fields’ 3-pointer with 17 seconds remaining in overtime helped the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team defeat Appalachian State 78-76 on Monday.
Appalachian State’s Adrian Delph responded with a 3 of his own with six seconds to go, but the Falcons’ Justin Turner hit one of two free throws with four seconds remaining to extend BG’s lead to two.
Michael Almonacy’s 3-point attempt at the horn for Appalachian State was off the mark.
Turner had 25 points to pace Bowling Green (2-1). Fields, Daeqwon Plowden, and Trey Diggs each added 10, with Plowden pulling down eight rebounds and Diggs six.
