Bowling Green men go with the flow to down Ohio

ATHENS, Ohio — The bizarre context of Wednesday's trip to Athens might be forgotten over time, but for this season, Bowling Green will take any Mid-American Conference win it can grab.

The MAC-favorite Falcons are 2-0 in the league after a quirky 83-75 victory against Ohio at a mostly empty Convocation Center.

BG originally was supposed to play at Kent State while Ohio was due to travel to Miami, games that were postponed due to coronavirus positives for the Golden Flashes and RedHawks.

Because of the change, the game was not televised — with Ohio students on break, a full production crew could not assembled on short notice, and the MAC's ESPN contract prevented Ohio from live-streaming the game on its own — and the focal point of BG's scouting report, Ohio point guard Jason Preston, did not play but was present at the game.
