BOWLING GREEN — A 2019 recruit has withdrawn his verbal commitment from Bowling Green after the football program fired head coach Mike Jinks.
Jaylen Pate, an unrated defensive end/linebacker who plays at Lane Tech in Chicago, announced Friday that he will look to play elsewhere after the coaching change.
Pate said he felt this was the best decision because of the uncertainty surrounding BG’s program.
“Due to the recent coaching changes and the uncertainty about the head coaching position going into next season, I am officially decommitting from Bowling Green and reopening my recruitment,” Pate wrote it a Twitter post.
