Bowling Green hockey sweeps weekend series at St. Thomas

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. — Alex Barber scored a goal 14 seconds into overtime as Bowling Green edged St. Thomas 2-1 on Saturday night for a weekend sweep.

The Falcons (11-8-3, 8-5-1 CCHA) beat St. Thomas 4-2 on Friday night.

Matthew Jennings scored an early goal for St. Thomas (1-21-0, 1-15-0) on Saturday night and the Tommies led 1-0 after one period.

Bowling Green's Nathan Burke scored a power-play goal on assists from Barber and Austen Swankler to even the score at 1.

Neither team scored in the third period before the game was decided in overtime.
