Bowling Green hockey skates past St. Thomas

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University hockey team opened a weekend series with a 4-2 win over St. Thomas on Friday night at Slater Family Ice Arena in its first home CCHA game of the season.

Austen Swankler, Chrystopher Collin, Seth Fyten, and Nathan Burke scored goals for the Falcons (4-1-2, 2-1-0 CCHA) and Zack Rose stopped 27 of the 29 shots that St. Thomas sent his way.

Bowling Green tallied 34 shots on goal in the game.

Matthew Jennings and Christiano Versich scored for the Tommies (1-10-0, 1-6-0 CCHA).

Jennings scored the lone first period goal, before Bowling Green answered back with second-period tallies from Swankler and Fyten.
