Bowling Green hockey falls short in overtime to Bemidji State

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University hockey team took Bemidji State past the 60-minute mark for the second straight night Saturday.

Once again, however, the Falcons were unable to pick up the victory, with Bemidji State prevailing 3-2 in overtime at the Slater Family Ice Arena.

Hudson Thornton scored the game winner 2:58 into overtime for Bemidji State (5-4-1, 3-0-1 CCHA). He did so after the Beavers rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period to force the extra period.

BGSU opened the scoring 3:05 into the game when Quinn Emerson netted the puck off assists from Breck McKinley and Tyler Hudson.
