Bowling Green hockey falls 4-2 to Northern Michigan

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University hockey team allowed two third-period goals in a 4-2 loss to Northern Michigan on Friday at Slater Family Ice Arena.

With the game tied 2-2 entering the final period, Northern Michigan's Tanner Vescio scored the game-winner 8:10 into the period.

Kristof Papp had an empty-net goal with 11 seconds remaining to provide the final margin.

Brett Pfoh gave Bowling Green a 1-0 lead 6:18 into the first period.

AJ Vanderbeck scored three minutes later as the Wildcats tied the game at 1.

Falcons forward Austen Swankler lit the lamp 18:54 into the opening period as Bowling Green took a 2-1 lead into the second.
