Bowling Green State University hockey’s trip to Milwaukee began with a 6-2 defeat to No. 16-ranked Providence on Tuesday in the opener of the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-off at the Fiserv Forum.
Providence (15-7) scored 1:26 into the game on a goal by Chase Yoder, and added a second score by Kohen Olischefski with 9:49 left in the first period to take a 2-0 lead.
The Falcons knotted the game up at 2 on first-period goals by Taylor Schneider (power play) and Alex Barber, but the Friars scored four goals in the final 21:17 of game action to pull away.
