The nationally-ranked University of Notre Dame scored seven times in the first inning, and the Fighting Irish never looked back in a 10-0 win over the Bowling Green State University softball team Thursday evening (March 17). The non-conference game was held at Melissa Cook Stadium.
The Irish, ranked No. 19 in the country in both polls, improved to 22-3 on the year, and UND has won 18-straight games. The Falcons fall to 11-11 on the season.
BGSU now heads to Bloomington, Ind., for four games in the Hoosier Classic. The Falcons will face IPFW and Western Illinois on Friday (March 18), before meeting Michigan State and UIC Saturday (March 19).
