PASADENA, Calif. — Former Bowling Green State University tight end Christian Sims recorded a touchdown in helping the American team edge the National 19-17 in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
Sims hauled in a 37-yard score — his lone reception of the game — on a pass from Holton Ahlers to give his team a 7-0 lead with 12:19 left in the second quarter. It was the only offensive touchdown for the American, which won on a Bijan Nichols 24-yard field goal as time expired.
