BGSU women's basketball pulls away from Western Michigan for 8th straight win

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team trailed Western Michigan by 11 after the first quarter, but the Falcons dominated the rest of the way to earn a 74-56 win in a Mid-American Conference game Wednesday at the Stroh Center.

BGSU won its eighth-straight contest to improve to 19-2 (8-1 MAC), while Western Michigan fell to 9-11 (4-5 MAC).

Jocelyn Tate had 16 points, seven rebounds, and three steals for BGSU, while Elissa Brett also had 16 points with six rebounds, six assists, and four steals.

Allison Day tallied 11 points and five boards, and Amy Velasco scored 11 points in a balanced BGSU offense.
