BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team staved off a fourth-quarter rally from Kent State in securing a 73-69 victory in the Mid-American Conference opener Saturday at the Stroh Center.
It was the seventh straight win for the Falcons.
Kent State (5-7, 0-1 MAC) outpaced BGSU (8-4, 1-0) 22-16 in the fourth quarter to inch closer, but could not get over the hump.
The Golden Flashes pulled to within three (70-67) with 18 seconds remaining after buckets by Riley Rismiller and Rylee Kalocay. Bowling Green led by as much as 13 points in the fourth quarter.
