BOWLING GREEN — A stretch of well-timed shooting might have taken the lead in the fourth quarter, but Bowling Green found itself on familiar ground Friday at the Stroh Center.
The Falcons have learned the hard way the past two seasons about the importance of free throws and defensive stops in end-game situations — and this time around, Bowling Green created enough of both.
The Falcons jumped to a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter and weathered a few mistakes by making six of seven free throws in the final two minutes to top visiting Eastern Michigan 71-64 in BG's Mid-American Conference opener.
