The Bowling Green State University volleyball team saw its exceptional season end in the opening round of the NCAA tournament on Wednesday night.
The Falcons (22-2), who won the Mid-American Conference regular-season and tournament titles, lost 3-1 to Weber State (19-1) in the first-round match in Omaha, Neb.
The Falcons dropped the opening set 25-18 in the back-and-forth match, but Bowling Green rallied to take the second set 25-22 to tie the match at one set apiece. However, Weber State pushed BG to the brink by taking the third set 25-22.
Facing elimination, BG fell behind 5-0 to start the fourth set.
