MANKATO, Minn. — For a second straight night Bowling Green State University and Minnesota State’s hockey contest went to a shootout, but this time the result was flipped.
With the score deadlocked at 1-1 after regulation and two overtimes, it was the visiting Falcons who earned the win after three shootout rounds Saturday night at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
Brett Pfoh had BGSU’s goal in the shootout and goalie Jacob Steinman made some key saves.
Both goals in regulation came in the second period.
Minnesota State went ahead 1-0 6:52 into the period on Luigi Benincasa’s goal.
