When Bowling Green State University kicks its season off Thursday against Tennessee, they will be met by some old friends on the opposite sideline.
One of those is Tennessee defensive coordinator Tim Banks.
Banks, who is in his first season at Tennessee, started his college coaching career at Bowling Green under then head coach Gary Blackney.
“He’s a terrific young coach, and it’s been fun to watch him grow over the years in the coaching ranks,” Blackney told The Blade. “I hired him as a [graduate assistant] at BGSU and then gave him his first full-time coaching position.
