BGSU men fall at Akron; Buffalo claims No. 1 seed

AKRON — On a night with very few easy baskets, Bowling Green’s Antwon Lillard found himself all alone with the Akron basket midway through the second half.

Lillard, planted, jumped, reared back — and threw his dunk directly into the side of the rim.

It was that kind of the night for the Falcons.

Bowling Green could not keep pace with Akron’s sharp shooting Tuesday at James A. Rhodes Arena, losing the penultimate game of the regular season 91-67.

Loren Cristian Jackson scored 29 points for Akron, while Daniel Utomi had 21 and Tyler Cheese added 20 for the Zips’ highest-scoring game of the Mid-American Conference season.
