ANN ARBOR — A Bowling Green men's basketball team with big dreams saw a few promising signs Saturday but ultimately had no upset magic at No. 25 Michigan.
The Falcons never led as the Wolverines were able to expose the BG defense in a 96-82 Michigan win at the Crisler Center in the season-opening game for both teams.
Five Wolverines scored in double figures as Michigan was able to run away with the game in the second half.
Already a smaller team, Bowling Green's size disadvantages were only exaggerated against Michigan. Matiss Kulackovskis, the Falcons' 6-foot-9 forward, was not in uniform for the game, and BG's only true center, 6-foot-10 Dylan Swingle, was in foul trouble all game and did not score during seven minutes on the floor.
