ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The scene onto which Bowling Green will step Saturday quite literally did not exist the last time its hockey program played this late into a season.
The Falcons — in the NCAA tournament for the first time in 29 years — will play in a building that, in 1990, was two-plus decades away from being built, on a network that did not yet exist, with a roster full of players who were not yet born.
But they’re here.
Ten years ago, this scene and these stakes were very much in doubt for Bowling Green’s hockey program, which came perilously close to not existing at all.
