BGSU hockey ends losing streak with last-minute winning goal against Minnesota State

Ethan Scardina’s goal with 59 seconds left in regulation gave Bowling Green State University a 4-3 win over Minnesota State on Friday at the Slater Family Ice Arena.

The Falcons dealt the visiting Mavericks, who entered the night in fourth place in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, their first loss since Dec. 15. BGSU snapped its own four-game regular season losing streak, winning for the first time since Dec. 9.

Minnesota State opened the scoring with a goal by Sam Morton at the 6:53 mark of the first period, and Jaden Grant tied it for BG before the first intermission.
