BOWLING GREEN — Lake Superior State’s Pete Veillette scored 17 seconds into the overtime period, handing the Bowling Green State University hockey team a 2-1 loss on Friday at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
Friday’s loss was the third straight for the No. 13-ranked Falcons (16-7-0, 5-4-0 Western Collegiate Hockey Association).
They were swept in a weekend series Feb. 5 and 6 at No. 6 Minnesota State.
Bowling Green’s Cameron Wright opened the game’s scoring at the 12:12 mark of the first period with his 10th of the season. Max Johnson and Brandon Kruse assisted on the score.
