BOWLING GREEN — The first regular-season contest in the Eddie George era for Bowling Green State University’s football program got off to an electrifying start before a thunderous defense and ground game took over.
The Falcons returned the season-opening kickoff for a touchdown for the second straight year when redshirt freshman running back Cameron Pettaway darted 98 yards for a score. BGSU used a run-heavy attack, great special teams, and a stellar defense after that to upend FCS Lafayette 26-7 on Thursday at Doyt Perry Stadium.
