BGSU defense dominates in 23-13 victory over Liberty

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s defense only needed three plays to force its first turnover of Saturday’s game against Liberty.

The Falcons didn’t let the foot off the gas on that side of the ball the rest of the way.

BGSU forced four turnovers, racked up four sacks, and flustered Liberty’s offense in earning a 23-13 nonconference football win over the Flames in front of 23,159 fans at Doyt Perry Stadium.

“They came out with the intent to establish the tone,” first-year BGSU coach Eddie George said. “We started off with our defense, and we wanted them to come out and get their eyes ready, set the tone physically.
