BOWLING GREEN — All offseason, Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler has said the Falcons would have no choice but to empty the reserves of young players during the 2020 football season.
When Bowling Green released its first depth chart Thursday, Loeffler wasn't kidding.
The Falcons listed 44 names on the offensive and defensive two-deep depth chart. Sixteen are freshmen. Seven more are sophomores.
And that's likely not even the full extent of the youth movement, as Loeffler chuckled when asked about the depth chart.
“Just wait until next year,” he said.
As Bowling Green readies for its opening game Wednesday night at Toledo, the youth movement is well under way.
