BG assistant football coach takes Washington State job

BOWLING GREEN – Bowling Green State University assistant football coach Matt Brock has left to become the special teams coordinator at Washington State, BG confirmed Thursday.

Brock has spent the past two seasons as the special teams coordinator for the Falcons. He also coached the nickel backs in 2016 before taking over as linebackers coach last season.

Last season Brock was a nominee for the Broyles Award, which is presented annually to college football’s top assistant coach.

Prior to his time at BG, Brock spent three seasons as a defensive quality control assistant at Texas Tech, where current Falcons coach Mike Jinks was an assistant.
