Bear down: Falcons smother Morgan State in first game, 46-3

BOWLING GREEN — Albeit against an overmatched opponent, Bowling Green left nothing to chance in its first game of a new era.

The Falcons' opening game under coach Scot Loeffler was all but decided after 20 minutes of play, as Bowling Green scored the first 30 points of the game and eased to a 46-3 victory on Thursday at Doyt Perry Stadium.

The margin of victory was Bowling Green’s biggest since defeating Kent State 48-0 midway through the 2015 season.

Graduate transfer Darius Wade — whose career doctors believed was over after a shoulder injury last year at Delaware — started his debut game at BG and threw three touchdown passes and no interceptions.
