Akron edges BGSU men's basketball, ends Falcons' four-game winning streak

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University had a pair of chances to take the lead in the final 15 seconds, but the Falcons couldn’t connect as they fell to Akron 74-70 in a Mid-American Conference men’s basketball game on Tuesday at the Stroh Center.

Leon Ayers III had 19 points for BGSU (8-8, 2-1 MAC), while Kaden Metheny totaled 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Enrique Freeman had a 21-point, 16-rebound double-double for Akron (10-6, 2-1 MAC).
