After retiring from playing, Neverov steps into coaching role for Bowling Green football

BOWLING GREEN — Injuries forced Sam Neverov off the football field, but not from the game itself.

Bowling Green’s most tenured offensive lineman announced his retirement from the game on Sept. 15, citing medical reasons. Neverov has since joined the coaching staff post-retirement.

Neverov, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound senior offensive guard from Dublin, Ohio, had played in 25 games over the previous three seasons for the Falcons. He didn’t play in 2021.

He told The Blade on Thursday he was working through injuries in both of his feet. He broke the sesamoid bones in both of his big toes.
