Eddie Howe says he had reached his 'shelf life' at Bournemouth but still regrets Sheffield United's 'ghost goal' against Aston Villa that relegated his team.

It was in 2020, in the first game back after the Covid-19 lockdown, that Hawk-Eye failed to award a goal scored by United at Villa Park. The match finished goalless and Villa eventually survived by a point, at the expense of Howe's Bournemouth.

The Newcastle boss returns to his old club for the first time on Saturday since leaving in the wake of their relegation.
