Stabbed murder victim, 18, was 'lively and popular' former pupil at top Bournemouth grammar school - as man appears in court charged with the killing

A teenager who was stabbed to death in Bournemouth has been described as a 'lively and popular' member of his former school community as an 18-year-old is charged with his murder.

Cameron Hamilton, 18, was stabbed to death in Bournemouth town centre during a fight at 1.26am on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene after the altercation in The Square in the Dorset seaside resort.

Thomas Betteridge, of Southsea, in Portsmouth, Hampshire, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. He appeared before magistrates in Poole today for a brief remand hearing.
